Law School Facilities and Resources

The Temple Law Library is open to law students seven days per week and offers students a full range of electronic journals and databases. Law student research activities are supported by full-time and part-time law library staff.

Temple Law is committed to ensuring that our students have optimal access to electronic resources. To that end, Temple has implemented an “anytime, anywhere” computer access model that includes a combination of wired and wireless network access, wired study carrel, computer clusters and state-of-the-art computer labs. Temple has been recognized as one of the most “connected” law schools in the country. Smart classrooms equipped with cutting edge technology, including video, audio and wifi access allow faculty to use technology in all classrooms. The faculty and administration use email as the official student communication method, and the law school uses a sophisticated course management system that allows faculty to post assignments, syllabi, announcements and links to special resources for each class.

All law students have full access to a wide variety of Temple University fitness and recreation facilities all located with one block of the Law School. Students may participate in organized intramural campus sports or engage informal fitness activities available in three campus gyms, two swimming pools, two tracks, indoor and outdoor tennis courts.  The University also makes many free or low cost campus concerts, theatrical and sporting events available to Temple students.

Temple Law School is a vibrant community offering students many extracurricular activities through law-student organization and school sponsored events. Throughout each semester, there are weekly guest speakers, discussions groups, workshop, law career presentations and social activities targeted to law students. LL.M. who join some of the Temple Law student organizations tend to have the broadest and most rewarding student social experience.

A limited amount of university graduate student apartment housing is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Students interested in university-managed housing should apply as early as possible. University apartment leases run from August to May.

Most graduate students live off campus in privately leased housing throughout Philadelphia. Temple Law School is very accessible from many parts of the city via Philadelphia’s extensive public transit system. Philadelphia is a city full of distinctive neighborhoods and Temple Law students live in many of them. Some of the popular neighborhoods among law students include: Old City, Mid-Town, Rittenhouse Square, Art Museum, Fairmount, Northern Liberties, Society Hill, South Street, Italian Market, Bella Vista and University City. There are also attractive suburban communities located along convenient Philadelphia commuter train routes just beyond the city limits for those who prefer a less urban lifestyle.
