We are all aware of how the ongoing violence and conflict in Syria is having a devastating effect on the Syrian population and in particular Syrian children and their families.
Schools have closed and health centres have shut down or become too dangerous for families to reach. The violence has forced millions of Syrians, many of them young children, to flee their homes and seek shelter in neighbouring countries, where the conditions they face are extreme due to floods, freezing climates and a lack of sufficient food and water.
Indeed, UNICEF has now declared this crisis to be at the highest level of emergency for Syrian children.
The video is an update from Abdul Aziz Al-Yaqout, Regional Managing Partner, DLA Piper Middle East, on the current situation in Syria and the plight of these Syrian refugees.
