INSEAD is currently looking to hire an Associate Director Legal (Data & New Technologies) to join our Dean’s Office Department. This is a permanent and full-time position that will be based, as part of our Legal Department, at our Europe Campus in France, Fontainebleau. INSEAD has a hybrid working policy with teleworking.

Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate will provide legal advice and support on (i) data protection for INSEAD’s worldwide operations and business teams, and (ii) IT/new technologies projects and contracts. They will be the legal expert in data and IT/new technologies which is needed to support business teams on the day-to-day activities.

Key Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Provide commercial, sales and marketing teams with legal advice on data protection laws and regulations, notably GDPR (EU Data Protection Regulations)
  • Advise on, and negotiate, data protection issues within commercial contracts and calls for tenders, including data management processes with clients
  • Provide support to IT/ Digital/ Innovation teams and legal team on various projects/ initiatives and contracts
  • Perform data protection impact assessments, update records of processing activities, manage data subjects’ privacy requests and complaints
  • Contribute to and provide data protection training and awareness programs
  • Contribute to INSEAD Data Council and support Data stewards as necessary
  • Monitor and respond to developments in data protection and information security (i.e. new laws and regulations)

 

Profil recherché


To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Master’s degree specialised in new technologies, IT/IP, data and/or Business Law
  • At least 5 to 8 years of relevant legal experience at a reputed law firm or as an in-house counsel in a multinational company
  • Excellent understanding of data protection laws and in particular GDPR
  • Ability to work in an international environment
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Keen interest in learning about new technologies
  • Passion to work in teams
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
