Publié lundi 8 mai 2017

MILAN (May 8, 2017) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is delighted to announce the arrival of one of the best known corporate teams in Italy. The new arrivals, comprised of three partners, Giancarlo Castorino, Ettore Scandale and Emidio Cacciapuoti, accompanied by a team of 4 counsel and 10 fee earners, significantly strengthen the Firm’s Italian capabilities in the area of transactions.

The team joins from the Milan office of King & Wood Mallesons (KWM). Giancarlo Castorino had been that office’s Managing Partner, succeeding Ettore Scandale who previously held the role.

Ira J. Coleman, chairman of McDermott, said, “This group is a great addition to McDermott as we extend and deepen our relationships with both local and global clients as a leading firm in the Italian corporate and financial market.”

“The team’s skillset is principally focused on private equity, M&A, banking and finance, and fund formation, in domestic as well as cross-border transactions. This expertise is fully in line with our strategic plan for further expanding our global Corporate & Transactional practice,” added Harris C. Siskind, Global Head of McDermott’s Corporate & Transactional Practice Group.

The new, bolstered McDermott office will comprise 9 partners, 6 counsel, 15 associates and 8 trainees.

“We are very excited to welcome Giancarlo, Ettore and Emidio to the McDermott network”, said Carlo Maria Paolella, head of the Firm’s Italian practice. “The arrival of the new team will help establish critical mass in Milan and instantly double the size of our local operations. Furthermore, they bring with them the knowledge, expertise and reputation of a highly regarded group, which has a solid reputation in the European market. McDermott’s strong corporate and financial transactions presence in Paris, London, Germany, the United States and China will lead to new synergies and exciting opportunities within our international platform as we continue to deliver leading-edge service for our clients.”
