LLM International Human Rights Law

Application


Entry requirements: 

  • Have obtained a Law degree of at least a 2:1 Honours or equivalent, and have a sound understanding of the basic principles of public and private law. The university is happy to consider students with qualifications or degrees other than in Law, eg. Social Sciences, Humanities, Accountancy or Business Studies
  • If you are an international student who does not meet the entry requirements the University will automatically consider you for the INTO Graduate Diploma in Law, which on successful completion will enable you to enroll onto a Law LLM.
  • Have obtained a IELTS overall score of 6.5 (with no less than 6.0 in any section) or a TOEFL IBT overall score of 92 (with no less than 22 in any section)

Programme Structure


The LLM is available to study over 12 months full-time or 24 months part-time. 

During the programme you will be required to study taught modules and write a dissertation which together will total 180 master level credits.

An important element of the programme is a study trip to Geneva to gain first-hand experience of the work of the United Nations. During the trip you will have the opportunity to attend committee sessions, joining the delegation, NGOs and committee members in the committee chambers. You may also be able to meet with some committee members for a private briefing on their work.
