LLM in international Banking Law and Finance

Programme

The LLM at the University of Edinburgh are twelve month programmes full-time or twenty-four months part-time. You can find information on 2014/15 semester dates on the University calender.

This highly specialised programme is aimed at future leaders in the field of banking law and finance. Based on Edinburgh’s strong law and finance expertise, the programme offers an interdisciplinary study of the legal and economic aspects of international banking and corporate finance and of global finance regulation.

You will be required to complete 120 credits of compulsory taught courses. There are three full year (40 credit) compulsory courses for this programme, as listed below:

Applications for the LLM open on 1st October each year and close on the 31st July each year. We recommend, however, that you apply as early as possible.


The minimum basic admission requirement for taught postgraduate degrees is a UK Upper Second Class (2:1) honours degree or its international equivalent, in Law or Social Sciences. If you have a non-UK degree, please check whether your degree qualification is equivalent to the minimum standard before applying. Click here to check your degree.
