LLM in German and European Business Law (private and public law)

Application

For admittance to the Masters Program applicants must fulfill the following admission requirements: 

  • Applicants must have successfully completed a bachelor’s degree and, preferably, a law degree
  • Applicants must demonstrate having had a minimum of one year of relevant work experience in addition to their undergraduate or first degree (internship experience would also be accepted)
  • Applicants must have German language skills which, at a minimum, must meet the level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages 

The Masters Program is currently limited to 30 positions in each academic year. The exposé and a favorable recommendation from a professor will also be considered.

Curriculum

The Masters Program is intended to be a one-year course of study. To complete the LL.M. program degree, participants must complete 60 credits of coursework as follows:

 Compulsory classes totaling 24 credits, including a legal internship, in which theory and practice are linked.

  • Elective classes totaling 21 credits, including the option to focus on either civil or public law.
  • Completion of a master’s thesis, together with an oral presentation of such thesis, for a total of 15 credits. Participants may choose to write a thesis on a topic related to the focus of their elective classes.
