Admission

Application Process


Candidates for admission may submit their applications online or by mail. Please see the information on the right for more details.


A completed application includes:


  • application form and application fee
  • official academic transcript from all college and universities attended
  • two letters of recommendation
  • personal statement
  • proof of English proficiency demonstrated through adequate TOFEL or IELTS scores
  • résumé or CV
  • Business Law LL.M. applicants only: a one-page essay (in addition to your personal statement) explaining your business/corporate law background, and stating concisely your goals in the field of business law.

Program

Business Law LL.M. students must successfully complete at least 24 credits in the academic year, and 17 of the credits must be business law courses. Review the Business Law course offerings here.


The Introduction to American Law course, in August, is required for all Business Law LL.M. students. There is no thesis requirement, but students must take one seminar course that is graded based on a substantial writing project with a business law focus. The Business Law LL.M. program ends with a graduation ceremony in mid-May.
