LL.M. in American Law for Foreign Lawyers

Application

Applicants must have completed a basic law degree from a recognized college, university or law school outside the United States. 

Students must have excellent academic records and strong professional and/or academicrecommendationsProfessional experience and demonstrated leadership skills will also be taken into account in admissions' decisions. 

Students must demonstrate proficiency in English (TOEFL 80 IELTS 6.5).

  • Completed application online
  • Application fee of $30 U.S. 
  • Two letters of recommendation. 
  • TOEFL or IELTS 
  • Transcripts from each post-secondary school.
  • Your current Resume.
  • A written personal statement  no more than 500 words.

  • Legal Research and Writing
  • Introduction to American Law.

Elective courses: 

Students will work with the program director to design their own curriculum tailored to their particular career goals. Some students choose to take courses that give a broad foundation in legal theory and the American legal system. Others choose instead to specialize in areas such as:

  • Commercial/Business Law
  • International Law
  • Intellectual Property Law
  • Criminal Law
