What you will do :

Are you (looking to become) an in-house counsel and do you want to be part of the decision making, build a long standing relationship with the business and create tailor-made solutions?

Our quickly growing international business, especially in French markets, has created a need for a Legal Counsel, French law qualified, to join our other colleagues in the Legal department. We are looking for someone who is commercially driven to be a trusted legal adviser close to the business, and who wants to be a part of the decision making process.  

You will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic work environment where you can make a direct impact. But it is not all easy, as you need to be a skilled stakeholder manager, able to juggle incoming urgent questions and projects with different priorities at the same time.

Your ultimate goal will be to work closely together with the traders and managers and add value to existing activities by providing tailored advice and guidance to all stakeholders.

In summary your tasks will be:  

• Advising on deal transactions;
• Being involved in drafting agreements, client proposals, complaints and litigation;
• Researching regulatory developments on French environmental markets;
• Discussing transportation terms;
• Drafting, negotiating, standardizing and optimizing contracts.  

Who you are :

• University degree and 5-8 years of working in French law;
• Experience in a French law firm; Specialized in international contracts (commercial contracting and litigation);
• Native French speaker and excellent knowledge and use of English;
• Skilled stakeholder manager, working well under pressure;
• Self-starter mentality, good at working independently;
• Entrepreneurial spirit, commercially minded, loves a fast-paced environment;
• High attention to details and ability to act swiftly on the spot.
