As Corporate Counsel for Life Science, you will serve as a legal business partner for our exciting Science & Lab Solutions business unit in EMEA. You will work on a variety of projects across the Life Science business sector but your primary focus will be to support the Science and Lab Solutions commercial business in EMEA.  Our Science and Lab solutions business offers a broad range of products for medical diagnostics, for food, beverage and environmental testing. It provides products and services that enable academic institutions, biotech and pharma R&D departments to understand diseases and to make scientific discoveries.

As a strategic partner you will provide guidance to management on legal and relevant business matters. Drafting and negotiating agreements, reviewing, evaluating and guiding your partners on process and operational improvements as well as identifying and mitigating risk are also core parts of your role.  You will have the opportunity to further develop your expertise by supporting academic and government tenders, distributor agreements, business development activities or finding solutions for our global key accounts. You will be providing support across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In addition, you will lead outside counsel for vital topics and train internal partners on a variety of issues and best practices.

You will report to the Head of Legal, Science and Lab Solutions, based in Darmstadt, Germany.

The position is located in the Strasbourg region, France, with the possibility to work partially from home.

• You have a French master degree in business law or equivalent
• You have a profound legal experience (minimum 5 years) in the areas of commercial law at a large law firm and/or multinational corporate legal department, preferably in the life science sector or in the digital economy
• You are a great teammate with excellent communication, able to interact well with senior management and colleagues in a matrixed, global organization
• You are curious and have pragmatic problem-solving skills
• You are willing to travel up to 10%
• You are proficient in English and French, German language is helpful
